“Mosaic stone for the transition from school to work”

For the twelfth time, the school-business working group distributed a homework booklet to all students in the last two grades at the start of the school year. In addition to the school- and homework-oriented calendar, the booklet contains a wealth of information and tips for the transition from school to working life. The booklet, which was published in an edition of 1100 copies on the initiative of the working group, was sent to all students in the relevant grades at the various schools.

The booklet not only contains important tips on starting an apprenticeship, choosing the right career and making a promising application, but also current offers from numerous companies in our region. With the help of advertisers, the booklet was distributed free of charge to future school leavers at the beginning of the school year.

Many professional opportunities

The school-business working group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, sees itself as a link between schools and business, said hartmut buchner of the savings bank, chairman of the working group for business, at a press conference at the herzog-otto middle school. The booklet offers local companies a welcome opportunity to make a lasting impression on the schoolchildren, and 25 companies took advantage of this opportunity. However, it is not only beneficial for the companies, but also for the schoolchildren, who are shown many career opportunities.

Buchner particularly emphasized that the date for the next training fair at the vocational school on 21 and 22 june has already been set in the booklet. March 2020, which is a signboard for the working group with its more than 100 participating companies, offices and institutions.

The principal of the host middle school, bernd schick, saw the homework booklet as an important tool for the students, which fits well with the profile of the middle school. The booklet is not only a good way to fill in homework, but also contains important information for students in the last two grades.

School district director stefanie mayr-leidnecker stressed that the homework booklet fulfills an important task in structuring the school day for students and is particularly well received by middle school students.

Just like the annual training fair, the homework booklet with its wealth of information on possible training places is an important piece in the mosaic of the transition from school to work, emphasized district administrator christian meibner.

Job advertisements from companies

Four students from the herzog-otto middle school also confirmed that the homework book really is an enrichment for everyday school life. Sarah gohring particularly emphasized the fact that the magazine contains many job advertisements from companies where people can get information and, if they are interested, apply for an apprenticeship.

Lea nowak found the tips for a promising application for an apprenticeship very helpful. This gives you valuable tips on how to write your resume and cover letter, as well as on how to behave during the interview. She also liked the vacation calendar.

Alina ebertz liked the games included in the booklet, which could be used to pass the time during a break.
